Yeast beta-glucan and the immune system
Beta-glucan from yeast is a natural polysaccharide from the cell walls of baker’s yeast. Under the Malaysian Food Act, beta glucan from yeast may help to support the immune system, associated with cold.
- Immune cells recognise yeast beta-glucan as it passes through your gut.
- This keeps those cells alert, so your body can respond well during cold seasons.
- Vitamin C and vitamin D3 in the same tablet also play a part in normal immune function.
The recognised amount is 0.2g of yeast beta-glucan a day. IMMUNO-3 puts it in an orange-flavoured chewable with no added sugar.
